SUPER STAR OF THE MONTH |

"Super Star" of the month
George Henderman Bullitt County Conservation District
The Kentucky Association of Conservation Distict Employees is pleased to recognize Mr. George Henderman of Bullitt County Conservation District as the January Super "Star." Mr. Henderman is a true asset to the Conservation District. the 4-H kids have never had an area to practive with their horses and livestock here locally. George was talking with the 4-H leader and hearing that was all it took. George, in his younger years, had been a member of 4-H and was anxious to help. George was instrumental in helping locate the land for the extension office and asked if part of the land could be used for an arena for the kids.
George started asking local businesses and politicians for support financially and while money came in, he applied for Phase 2 tobacco money to match. George, himself, started plowing the arena with his tractor and then went and picked up the arena fence, dug the holes, and installed the fence. Money continued to come in, and nighttime lighting went up for the dark shows. The arena has running water and an outbuilding for equipment (including a tractor just for the arena) and brand new bleachers for the crowds.
The arena has officially been named the Henderman_henning Livestock Arena and in a very short time, the arena has already been used by seven counties and tallied over 2000 hours of use.
